Using Technology to Go Old School

In training, there is always a push to incorporate the latest technology to gain and keep the attention of participants. Oddly enough, it was surprising to see the reaction of students when they were presented with this old school game. Utilizing today’s technology and the “There’s an app for that” mentality, I came across several online resources that build BINGO Cards.

Many of the resources will let instructors pick the number of spaces needed to fill, add free spaces, and randomize the spaces in which the words appear on the printable playing cards. The instructor then reads a list of prepared questions to the students, and the students can mark the correct answers on the BINGO cards. The first student to get BINGO wins a prize. This type of gameplay is a fun, effective way for students to review and revisit information without the need to review all of the same content.
