RoadWise Driver Online, AAA’s new online driver improvement course tailored specifically to seniors, now is available in 13 states: Hawaii, Iowa, Massachusetts, Nebraska, North Carolina, South Dakota, Texas, Vermont, Wisconsin, Arizona, Indiana, Maryland and Ohio.
The program is designed to help drivers learn about and adjust to physical and mental changes related to aging. Tips and best practices are provided to help drivers compensate for increases in reaction time, adjust vehicles for maximum comfort and safety and understand the effects of prescribed medicines on driving ability.
“This course takes all the best information and advice AAA has to offer senior drivers and delivers it in a channel that is the most convenient for them,” said Driver Training Programs Project Manager Linda Pierre.
Those considering RoadWise Driver Online should be encouraged to check whether their insurance company offers a discount for course completion, she added.
In the next few weeks, the course will expand into Arkansas, Georgia, Illinois, Kansas, Kentucky, Maine, Michigan, Mississippi, Missouri, New Hampshire, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Utah, West Virginia and Wyoming.
